Where skills, faith and fun meet.

Are you ready to join the adventure?

Welcome to

3rd Leytonstone Ilm Scouts

We are a volunteer-run scouts group dedicated to helping young Muslims grow, thrive, and discover their full potential. We provide a safe, supportive, and faith-friendly environment where children can build confidence, learn practical skills, and create lifelong friendships.

What we offer:

Through the commitment of our trained leaders and volunteers, we deliver a structured weekly programme that is fun, engaging, and development-focused. Each session is designed to nurture character, independence, and resilience.

Your child will enjoy a wide range of activities, including:

  • Outdoor adventures – camping, hiking, cooking outdoors, and learning essential survival skills.
  • Personal development – leadership exercises, teamwork challenges, and public-speaking opportunities.
  • Community service – tree planting, charity projects, and activities that build compassion and responsibility.
  • Life skills – budgeting, first aid, problem-solving, and hands-on projects.
  • Creative challenges – arts, crafts, STEM activities, and fun team games.

Every week is a new opportunity for your child to learn something meaningful, step out of their comfort zone, and discover what they’re capable of.

Ages 6-8

Beaver Scouts are the youngest members of our group, and this is where their Scouting adventure begins. Each week, they take part in a variety of fun, hands-on activities—games, crafts, simple life skills, teamwork challenges, and visits that help them explore the world around them. We also make sure they enjoy plenty of outdoor fun whenever possible.

Beavers also get the chance to experience the excitement of camps and sleepovers. For many, it’s their first night away from home—an unforgettable milestone filled with adventure, confidence-building, and lots of smiles.

Ages 8-10 1/2

Cub Scouts build on the foundations learned in Beavers with even bigger adventures and new challenges. Each week, Cubs enjoy a lively programme that includes outdoor skills, team games, problem-solving activities, and creative tasks that stretch their imagination.

They also take part in exciting trips, day outings, and longer camps where they learn independence, teamwork, and responsibility. Cubs grow in confidence as they try new things, make friends, and discover what they’re capable of.

Ages 10-14

Scouts take adventure to the next level. With the support of trained leaders, they learn practical outdoor skills, tackle real challenges, and work together to develop confidence and leadership. Activities include camping, navigation, cooking, first aid, community service, and projects that build resilience and real-world skills.

Scouts experience more ambitious camps, expeditions, and team challenges, helping them become independent, responsible young people ready for the demands of modern life

Young Leaders (Ages 14 - 18)

Overview
Our Young Leaders programme gives older teens the chance to step up, give back, and develop real leadership skills. As part of the Explorer Scouts section, Young Leaders volunteer within Beaver, Cub, or Scout groups, supporting adult leaders and playing an active role in planning and delivering activities.

Skills development & training
Through specialised training modules and hands-on experience, Young Leaders develop skills such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, safeguarding awareness, and responsibility. They gain confidence, build strong relationships, and learn what it means to be a positive role model.

Future opportunities & benefits
These experiences not only strengthen their character but also look fantastic on college, university, and apprenticeship applications. Many go on to become full adult leaders or use the skills they’ve gained in future careers.
